Buckinghamshire Waste Busters - Volunteers

Buckinghamshire Waste Busters is an exciting new collaboration between Buckinghamshire Council and Garden Organic to help residents reduce their waste.

The new campaign is looking for volunteers with a passion for reducing waste to share their skills and knowledge with others. Whether you love recycling, are a keen composter, rampant repairer or brilliant at avoiding food waste, this campaign is for you.

Volunteers do not need to have had any prior experience of waste or public engagement as full training is provided.  They only need to commit to a minimum of 30 hours of volunteering over the year and can be reimbursed for any travel costs. The only requirements are that individuals live in, or near, Buckinghamshire, are comfortable talking to people and are passionate about supporting their community to reduce waste from households.

Full training is provided, the next session will be held in February in Aylesbury.

Most of the volunteer activity will be engaging with the public at events across Buckinghamshire, as well as delivering talks and workshops to schools and community groups. Each volunteer can decide which of these events they wish to undertake, as well as finding their own local events or projects.
