RecycleWeek

Recycle Week: Bucks is joining the 2025 Rescue Me! Recycle campaign
Now in its twenty second year, Recycle Week is the nation’s biggest annual celebration of recycling.
This Recycle Week, which is running from 22 – 28 September, we are proud to support the Rescue Me! Recycle campaign, lead by Recycle Now.
The campaign continues to shine a spotlight on missed capture items that too often end up in the rubbish bin but can, and should, be recycled.
Following the success of last year’s campaign, Rescue Me! Recycle returns with host of packaging heroes who want nothing more than to be rescued from the bin, and put into the recycling. So remember to do your bit and recycle them:
- Toilet tubes
- Perfume bottles
- Trigger spray cleaning bottles
- Yoghurt pots
- Aerosols
- Shampoo bottles
- Foil
- Toothpaste tubes (in certain areas)
We can all help fight climate change by recycling because recycling in the UK currently saves 18 million tonnes of CO2 every year, which is the same as taking 12 million cars off the road.
Buckinghamshire is a County of recyclers – but there are some simple things that we can all do to make our recycling even better.
Top tips for recycling in Buckinghamshire:
- Recycle more of these items: Aerosols, plastic bottles from the bathroom and plastic trays
- Make sure these never go in the recycling bin: food, nappies, plastic bags & wrappers
And if you’re at all unsure about how to recycle a specific item, remember that the Waste Wizard can show you exactly what needs to go in the recycling bin where you live – just pop in your postcode!
