Reuse shops at Household Recycling Centres

All ten household recycling centres will accept items for donation to the South Bucks Hospice shops at Aston Clinton and High WycombeThe top ten items the Reuse shops are always looking for are:

  • Branded hoovers (Henry, Shark & Dyson)
  • Flat screen TVs and laptops
  • Power tools
  • Bikes (all sizes, past their best or even parts of bikes!)
  • Furniture - such as chest of drawers, desks, mirrors. These need to be assembled
  • Outdoor furniture - chairs, tables,
  • Garden items - BBQs, garden tools, plant pots, ornaments
  • Children's toys - action figures, board games, ride ons, dolls houses (all toys need the CE safety label)
  • Antiques - train sets, memorabilia, chests/trunks
  • Musical instruments

Not all items are suitable for donating to reuse (so it's always best to check with a member of staff), for example the shop staff cannot repair or clean items so anything donated needs to be in good working order. Some items need to have the correct Safety Standards available to check .

By donating items for reuse you will be preventing carbon emissions (associated with producing and distributing new items), reducing disposal costs for the Council and improving recycling performance. You will also be helping generate funds for South Bucks Hospice.

South Bucks Hospice at Butterfly House is a day hospice in High Wycombe which supports patients living with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses through the provision of specialist palliative care on an outpatient basis.

The charity helps people at any stage in their diagnosis to adjust physically, psychologically, socially, and emotionally to their condition, to keep well and to cope with any health and care needs at home, wherever possible. They also support families and carers.

South Bucks Hospice also have an eBay shop so you can still buy preloved items, and support this local charity from the comfort of your own home.
