Make the switch to reusables
-
Women and people who menstruate use more than
11,000 disposable
menstrual products in their lifetime*
-
Each period can cost on average £10, that’s £120 a year and £4800 over a lifetime.
-
Disposal of single use menstrual products - tampons, pads and applicators generates 200,000 tonnes of waste per year in the UK.
-
The average woman or person who menstruates throws away up to 200kg of menstrual products in their lifetime.
-
Most single use disposable menstrual pads can be made of up to 90% plastic
We have launched our Sustainable Period Product Scheme – to help those who wish to buy a reusable alternative to the traditional disposable period products.
Switching to sustainable options like menstrual cups, period pants, and washable pads isn’t just a healthy choice for you- it’s a sustainable one for the planet. And it saves you money in the long run!
Our scheme, which is funded by Buckinghamshire Council, will provide a £10 voucher to spend on sustainable period products – we have created a poster for you to display in your school to let your pupils know about the scheme and how to apply. As well as a brief explanation detailing the different types of reusable period products.
