Great British Spring Clean

Buckinghamshire Council supports individuals and groups who want to keep their local area clean by picking litter. The council supplies litter pickers, bags, gloves and advises on how best to dispose of any litter picked waste. But every March the Council goes the extra mile to support local people and keep Bucks looking beautiful. This years campaign will run from 15th - 31st March.

This year Keep Britain Tidy is celebrating its 70th anniversary, which influences the theme this year: why not challenge yourself to litter pick 70 items, 70 bags, or spending 70 minutes in the great outdoors litter-picking!

You can pledge your litter pick on the Keep Britain Tidy page here.

Here are some other top litter picking tips:

  • Download LitterLotto. The free to download app rewards you for binning litter, your own, and other peoples. With a weekly UK jackpot of £1,000 and a monthly Buckinghamshire only jackpot of £250, you could bin it, and win it!
  • Find a local Womble or litter picking group and join in. The council has an online directory of local groups that are always looking for volunteers
  • Organise your own community litter pick. If you want to go it alone, or have a band of merry friends willing to do some litter picking, the council can support you with equipment and advice.
