How to recycle food waste

Recycling your food waste has never been easier. Buckinghamshire Council provides a convenient weekly food recycling service.

Want to get started?

If you want to join the thousands of homes in Buckinghamshire already recycling their food you just need a suitable container to use as a kitchen caddy, and an outdoor food recycling bin. You can order some food waste recycling bins to get started.

Once you have your containers you can start. Most people put a liner in their kitchen caddy then put their food waste in it. You can use compostable liners, plastic liners and bags or even newspaper. You can order a years supply of liners for just £4 here.

Whenever your indoor caddy, or container is full, empty it into your outdoor food recycling bin. Each week you can put your outdoor food recycling bin out for collection by 6.30am alongside your other bins on collection day.

Remember there is no amount too small.
