How to recycle batteries

Did you know batteries can start fires when crushed in bins and waste lorries? Luckily there are three easy ways to recycle your batteries separately and most importantly, safely.

It's easy to recycle your batteries safely and separately you can;

Recycle at home - Put your used batteries in a small plastic bag, then place it on top of your bin lid on collection day. Collection crews have a separate compartment on the vehicle to store them safely.

Recycle at the supermarket - Every store has a battery recycling point where they are stored separately before recycling. Find your nearest battery recycling point.

Recycle at the household recycling centres - All ten recycling centres in Buckinghamshire can take batteries for recycling. There is also a special droop off point for larger batteries, that are too big to recycle at home or in the supermarket. Find your nearest site.
