Recycle Right

Latest research from Recycle Now reveals that almost 9 out of 10 people now recycle. All homes in Buckinghamshire can recycle the most common recyclable items at home including:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Tins, cans and foil
  • Plastic bottles
  • Glass

Did you know that by putting the wrong item into your recycling bin can cost the council thousands in extra disposal costs, which could be spent on other services? It can also affect other items in the bin or lorry making them non-recyclable too. Plastic, cans, cartons/tetrapak and glass go into the blue wheelie bin. Paper and cardboard goes in the separate box. This is because these materials are sent to different locations for processing and by putting materials in the wrong bin, not only means it might not be recycled but also extra charges are placed on the council.

You can download our handy guide to check what you can (and can't) put in each bin.
