Take a tour and find out more

Have you ever wondered what happens to your waste and how your recycling is segregated for reprocessing? Come on a tour of your local recycling centre and find out!

Site tours take place at either Aston Clinton Recycling Centre or High Wycombe Recycling Centre. They are free of charge, all you need to do is get to us.

Book nowThe tour will be led by the Education Manager who will guide the group around the recycling facility and explain what happens to each material stream collected. You will see the plant in full operation and have the opportunity to ask any recycling queries you may have.

All participants (both child and adult) will need to wear flat, closed in shoes. Hi-visibility tabards will be provided and must be worn at all times throughout the tour. Anyone who arrives in unsuitable footwear or is unwilling to wear a high-visibility tabard will unfortunately not be allowed to participate (various tabard sizes are available, please get in touch if you have any concerns).

Group size is to be agreed with the Education Manager on booking. The minimum age for visitors is 12 years old. A pre-tour assessment will be carried out for groups which include children or vulnerable adults. This allows group leaders the opportunity to go through the risk assessment with the Education Manager in advance of the tour. A minimum adult:child ratio is to be agreed with the Education Manager in advance.

At the end of the tour visitors will have the opportunity to peruse the onsite reuse shop and possibly pick up a bargain.

Can’t get to us? Our Education Manager will come to you! We are able to deliver tailor made talks and activities for schools and community groups across Buckinghamshire. Talks and Activities include but are not limited to:

  • What happens to your recycling and waste?
  • Metal Matters – A closer look at metal recycling

  • Cubs/Scouts Environmental Conservation badge

Please get in touch to discuss your requirements in more detail.
